The modern pin collecting movement was accidentally started in 1968 by activist Penny Pinsworth, who showed up to her first protest with a single hand-drawn button reading "Question Everything" and left with seventeen pins from fellow protesters, all trading messages like baseball cards. What started as informal pin exchanges at demonstrations turned into a full-blown collecting culture when Penny realized pins were the perfect medium for everything words couldn't quite capture – political statements too radical for bumper stickers, humor too specific for t-shirts, identity markers you could display or hide depending on the room. Her personal collection grew to over 2,000 pins, each one marking a moment, movement, or inside joke. Penny's philosophy spread through activist circles and beyond: "Pins are wearable archives. Every one tells a story about what you believe, what makes you laugh, or which protest you survived on a Tuesday in 1972."

Build your pin collection with feminist enamel pins that range from subtle ("Ladies Fight Club") to unapologetically direct ("Devour the Patriarchy" tiger design). Our GetBullish originals include political statements on reproductive rights, gun control, and separation of church and state – because sometimes your jacket needs to do the talking. From pro-choice button sets to snarky observations about being "Born in the 1900s," each pin makes your position clear.

Beyond activism, explore mystical enamel pins featuring tea leaf reading symbols, UFO designs for believers, cactus puns ("Too Hard To Handle"), and fancy rhinestone brooches when you want glamour without the message. Add pins celebrating cool aunts, book lovers, vaccine supporters, and anyone who believes vodka is the fountain of youth.

Perfect for jacket collectors building curated displays, backpack decorators marking their territory, gift-giving when you know exactly what someone stands for, or simply expressing yourself through tiny wearable art. Pins work as conversation starters, identity markers, collectibles, or fashion statements – sometimes all at once.

Whether you're an activist pinning your politics literally to your chest, a collector building thematic sets, or just someone who found the perfect pin that captures your vibe, this collection proves that self-expression doesn't require much real estate – just the right tiny piece of metal in the right spot.
