What is GetBullish?

GetBullish began in 2010 as an advice column by Jennifer Dziura about women and careers, and now is published as a quarterly magazine on www.getbullish.com. Jennifer began the web store in 2014 with just a few GetBullish logo themed items. Over the years, the store has grown to now carry over 6,000 items by over 200 makers – including over 300 items designed by Jennifer – all in a small, sunny warehouse in Brooklyn.

Do you have a retail store in New York?

No, we are entirely online and cannot accept visitors in the warehouse. We can occasionally offer local pickup for large corporate, bulk, or wholesale orders in Brooklyn. Please place your order online and we'll get it out ASAP!

What makes GetBullish products special?

We're not just another gift shop! GetBullish is 100% woman-owned and operated, creating products that empower and delight. Our founder Jennifer Dziura writes the funny, trenchant slogans on many of our items – like our famous keychain that says "We will dance on the graves of the patriarchy and drink the bitter tears of mediocre men."

We carry over 300 original designs you won't find anywhere else, plus carefully curated items from over 200 makers – many of them women-owned small businesses. Every purchase supports our feminist mission and the creative economy!

Plus, we ship everything from our sunny Brooklyn warehouse with personal care – not a faceless fulfillment center.

Why should I shop here instead of Amazon?

Great question! Here's what makes us different:

What is a bullicorn?

It's a bull with a unicorn horn on it, naturally. The bull has long been the symbol of Wall Street – hyper-masculine and aggressive. We think it's hilarious that anyone thinks a snorting, charging, macho animal provoked to the point of aggression is really a symbol of success or good business practices. So we've reclaimed the bull by adding a unicorn horn. Yes, we know that bulls are male animals, we just like to mess with gender norms. In day-to-day usage, bullicorns are GetBullish readers and community members who bring a little feminist, Pride-filled, anti-racist, social justice magic to the workplace and everywhere.

Once, at one of our annual conferences, a bartender asked permission to get a tattoo of the GetBullish bullicorn because he felt it perfectly represented him as a gay Taurus. That's great too!

How do I use a discount code?

Enter the discount code in the discount box on the checkout page:


 

Important: Make sure to apply your discount code before clicking express checkout options like PayPal, Shop Pay, or Amazon Pay — those will take you straight to payment and skip the discount code box!

If you have already selected one of these payment methods and want to bring back the discount box, try changing your payment method to Credit Card (you can change it back after you enter your discount).

Do you have any discount codes I can use?

We don't generally issue discount codes for a percent off the entire store, but we always have codes and promotions for various categories and collections – you can visit our Promotions and Coupon Codes page anytime to see what codes are active!

Why does shipping cost what it costs?

Our cost for shipping a single sticker to California is about $5.15. A single mug costs $9-12 to ship. We have to pay this to USPS – shipping overall is a bigger cost than rent on our warehouse.

Some businesses offer "free" shipping by rolling the shipping price into the item cost, but that doesn't make sense for us because most of our customers buy multiple items at once, and our items are pretty affordable. If we did this, you'd pay more overall than you do now.

We do offer free US shipping over $50 (which is pretty low compared to similar businesses – most other gift shops are offering free shipping on orders over $70 or more), in which we of course we are subsidizing your shipping. There is no way we could do this when a customer is ordering, for example, a single $15 mug that costs us $9 to ship.

Your shipping fees do support the US Postal Service! But if you don't want to pay shipping, you will want to get your order over $50. We'll keep the free shipping minimum at $50 for as long as we can!

If you are asking about an international order – we've found that the cheaper shipping options (wherein the US postal service transmits the package to your country's postal service) are slow, provide large gaps of time where no tracking is available, and often result in lost packages. So we only offer the good, fast, expensive shipping – UPS Int'l and DHL. It's pretty important to us that the shipping works, which now it does! Using DHL also means you can actually order Christmas presents to the UK in December and get them in a few days, instead of having to plan further in advance.

My "free shipping over $50" isn't working

We offer free U.S. shipping on orders over $50. One common reason you might not see the free shipping you expected is that your order was over $50, but you applied a discount and now it is below $50 (in this case, you would need to get the order back over $50 to get free shipping).

Another occasional issue is that you are seeing various shipping options in a different order – there is a pulldown menu that lists Free Economy Shipping for eligible orders, and below that lists Priority/Express options. Make sure you're seeing all the options and the free one should become apparent!

Can I cancel my order?

Help, I entered the wrong billing address!

You are welcome to send us the correct information for our records, but the billing information goes straight to the bank and we cannot change it. If your charge went through with the "wrong" billing address, it's probably your former address, your work address, or the address of your gift recipient or a family member, right? The credit card companies know that these addresses are all associated and therefore allowed the charge to go through. So rest easy, everything is fine!

My tracking says "delivered" but I don't have my package

This is unfortunately very common, and is almost always resolved within 2-3 business days!

Some post offices mark packages as "delivered" based on when they estimate it will arrive, rather than when they actually deliver it. (We know, it's frustrating!)

First, check around your home - packages might be at the front door, back door, in/under the mailbox, or with a neighbor.

If your package doesn't arrive within 2-3 business days after the "delivered" notification, please contact us and we'll help track it down.

Shipping & Delivery

How long does shipping take?

Most items are located in our own warehouse in Brooklyn, NY. We pick, pack, and ship everything with love and care, and your order will go out within 1-2 business days.

US Orders: After leaving our warehouse, packages typically arrive in 3-5 business days. Made to order items (such as printed apparel) arrive separately and take a few extra days.

International Orders: Arrive in 3-7 days via UPS or 1-3 days via DHL.

How do I track my order?

US Orders: When your order ships, you'll get a tracking email from us. If you haven't received it after a few days, check your spam folder!

Note: We have a daily truck come pick up our packages (rather than taking them to the post office), so there is often a delay between when we print the label and when USPS first scans it. This doesn't affect how fast it gets to you.

International Orders: We now ship all international orders via UPS (3-7 days) or DHL (1-3 days). You can track using the provided tracking number or try 17track.net for multi-country tracking.

Hey, you guys sent me a tracking number but you never dropped off my package!

Hi there! When we print out a shipping label, we pack the order within a few hours and it goes in that day's USPS pickup or the next business day's pickup. A label printed on Tuesday at noon would go in Tuesday or Wednesday's pickup, whereas a label printed Friday at 4pm would probably go in Monday's pickup (unless it was a Priority order).

The USPS truck driver can't individually scan dozens or hundreds of packages from every stop on the route – instead, those packages get scanned at the regional hub in Queens, New York, anywhere from 12-36 hours after the packages leave us.

Sometimes, especially around the holidays when things get busy, the regional hub skips scanning the packages at that stage, which can make both you and me a little nervous, but doesn't actually slow down the packages. Often, a customer messages us "Where is my package, you guys didn't mail it," and within a day we see that the package gets a scan in the customer's home state and is scheduled to arrive the next day.

You're welcome to reach out if you're concerned about your package's tracking! But please know we do get daily M-F pickups here and your packages are picked up promptly!

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we now ship to nearly every country in the world, with fast and reliable DHL service!

Depending on the rate you select, your order can arrive across the world in just a few days.

A few of our items, such as food, tea, lavatory sprays, and some made-to-order apparel do not ship internationally, but nearly everything else in the shop does!

When you first visit the website from a non-US device, you should see a country selector — if you confirm your correct location, you'll see only items available to ship to your country.

International: What about customs and duties?

Good news! All international taxes and duties are now calculated and paid during checkout. You won't be charged any additional fees when you receive your package.

Returns & Issues

What's your return policy?

We want you to keep coming back, so we're generally pretty cool!

We accept returns within 30 days of purchase for items in original condition, with the exception of body products and food (sweets, tea, etc.)

We do take back apparel that has been tried on!

Shipping costs are not refundable, and the buyer pays return shipping.

Is your item defective or broken? Send us a picture and let us make it right!

Email returns@getbullish.com to initiate the returns process.

My item arrived damaged or defective

Oh no! Contact us and we'll make it right! A photo of the item is very helpful.

Gift Orders

How do gift orders work?

On the cart page, type a Gift Message in the box:



Make sure to include your name! We'll send the order with a gift slip that includes your message. If you don't want to enter a message or already placed your order, don't worry – NONE of our packing slips have prices.

Can I ship to multiple addresses?

You'll need to place separate orders for each shipping address. We know it's a bit of extra work, but it ensures each gift gets properly tracked and delivered!

Can I get sizing information for an apparel item or ask a product question?

Yes, you can use the Q&A feature on each product page (just scroll down) especially if it's a question other people might want the answer to!

Where are your products made?

We sell products from over 200 different makers and manufacture our own products with a number of different factories, so that answer is really all over the map (literally!) Our stickers are mostly printed in the US, our sticker books and keychains in China, etc.

It gets even more complicated – we sell many items from women-owned, US-based businesses, but an artist in Kansas who hand-draws all her designs may have them printed on tumblers in the US, but the printer sources the blank tumblers from China. Even someone who is hand-whittling wood earrings from a tree they chopped down themselves is typically putting those earrings on ear wires that come from China.

Let us know if you need more specific information about a particular product and we'll answer as best we can.

Do you offer wholesale?

We do! We offer wholesale on our own original products (the ones we design here at GetBullish).

Do you offer bulk discounts?

Yes! Some of our original items already have bulk discounts on the order page itself.

If you run an event or organization and want to place a large bulk order, we may be able to help, especially if it's for one of our original items. The Bullish store sells about 200 of our original items, as well as thousands of items from other makers.

Please contact us well in advance of your event date and we'll see what we can do!

How will tariffs affect pricing?

Not much! We sell a very large number of items, so if all the sudden the government decided to put a one billion percent tax on widgets, we would just stop selling widgets. We're very flexible! 

How can I get my products into your store?

We are not actively seeking new wholesale lines right now, and we do not license art or ideas. You can send a brief email with a wholesale link, but we generally are not able to respond to these. Thanks for understanding!
