A 5" safety pin — scaled up to hair accessory proportions, with a blunt tip so it's safe to use. Slide it through a hair bun for instant punk energy. Also works as a bag charm or on a keychain. Silver metal alloy.

Note: the tip is blunt and not sharp enough to pierce most fabrics, so while it can go through a loose-knit sweater, it is not intended for use as a clothing pin.

  • 5" long
  • Blunt tip — safe for hair use
  • Silver metal alloy
  • Use as a hair bun pin, bag charm, or keychain accessory

The big safety pin hair accessory is now my daily go to. I often wear my hair in a bun and love to dress it up with an oversized safety pin.

Super cool, as this is actually a real ginormous safety pin, with a dulled/rounded-for-safety pin.

But heads up: it’s somewhat smaller than it looks in the photo (they must have a tiny head), AND the design does not actually allow for it to be used like a large HAIRPIN — it would be cool if it was in two pieces, so the wire part would be able to go through a twist of hair like a traditional 2-pronged (elongated-U-shape) hairpin, and THEN the safety pin ‘head’ could be clicked on like a little cap. But as it is, because the ‘head’ is in fact attached to one of the two prongs (as it IS an actual safety pin), you can only push the one empty prong though a twist of hair, and then close the pin. In my experience, I had to put up my hair with a chopstick, and THEN sort of add the pin as a decoration, pinning it into my already secured hair.

You need a little skill to be good at buns, but this is so cute!

I got such a kick out of this. It was tricky getting my hair to stay up, but I figured it out with an extra clip :) So fun!
